Providence-St. Mel and Christ the King are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Christ the King took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Providence-St. Mel, who comes in off a win.

Providence-St. Mel took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Ellison.

Providence-St. Mel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Christ the King came up short against Bishop McNamara on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-2.

Providence-St. Mel's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Christ the King, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1.
