Softball Recap: Peninsula Takes a Loss

Peninsula was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mira Costa Mustangs. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Frances Toman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Peninsula's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Mira Costa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-15.

Coincidentally, Peninsula and Mira Costa will both be playing Wiseburn- Da Vinci the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will host them at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
