Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is East Marion's Fifth in Last Six Outings

East Marion won the last time they faced Sacred Heart, and Brian Foxworth did his part to make sure it happened again. The East Marion Eagles walked away with a 56-43 victory over the Sacred Heart Crusaders on Tuesday thanks in part to Foxworth, who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Amari Hill was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy.

When it comes to explaining why Sacred Heart lost, don't look at Raider Williams. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 16 to rack up 26 points and eight rebounds. The match was Williams' eighth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davey, who put up ten points.

East Marion is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Sacred Heart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

East Marion has already played their next match, a 72-58 win against Enterprise on the 7th. As for Sacred Heart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-48 loss against Lumberton on the 7th.
