Soccer Game Preview: Ellicott vs. Salida

Ellicott hasn't had much luck against Salida recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Thunderhawks will challenge the Spartans at 11:00 a.m. Ellicott's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ellicott is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against The Vanguard School on Thursday. Neither the Thunderhawks nor the Coursers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Salida waltzed into their contest on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pirates a 10-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Isaac Sarmiento as he scored three goals for his team.

With that draw, Ellicott's record moves to 3-6-1. As for Salida, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Ellicott suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Salida in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Thunderhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
