Volleyball Recap: Gothenburg Takes a Loss

Gothenburg lost against Minden back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Swedes fell 2-0 to the Whippets.

While Gothenburg was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23.

Halsey Thomalla paced Gothenburg's offense, picking up ten kills. Thomalla got some help from Ruby Bell and her 15 assists. Zoe Beveridge controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Gothenburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Minden, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-4 record this season.

Gothenburg has already played their next contest (against Amherst), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Minden will be paying especially close attention to the Swedes' game: after the Swedes face off against the Broncos, they'll take on Minden again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
