Football Game Preview: St. Luke's Storm vs. Kingswood Oxford Wyverns

The St. Luke's Storm will square off against the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Luke's will be strutting in after a victory while Kingswood Oxford will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Luke's took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Morristown-Beard 28-7. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 112th in Connecticut, while the Crimson are ranked 282nd in New Jersey) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kingswood Oxford came up short against Berkshire School on Saturday and fell 21-14. The loss was the Wyverns' first of the season.

Although Kingswood Oxford took the loss, they still got scores from Isley Biggins and Michael Waters Jr..

Having lost for the first time this season, Kingswood Oxford fell to 3-1. As for St. Luke's, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

St. Luke's was able to grind out a solid victory over Kingswood Oxford in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, winning 34-21. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wyverns' Nathan Bowes, who threw for 119 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Storm to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
