Basketball Recap: Academic Magnet Takes a Loss

Academic Magnet lost to Philip Simmons back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raptors had to suffer through a 60-31 loss at the hands of the Iron Horses. The Raptors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Philip Simmons' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Porcher led the charge by shooting 46% from the field on her way to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Germany Moore, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Academic Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Philip Simmons, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Academic Magnet has already played their next matchup, a 57-35 defeat against Woodland on the 20th. As for Philip Simmons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-29 loss against Timberland on the 20th.
