Meanwhile, South Wake's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Saturday. They took a 64-50 bruising from Cathedral Academy. The contest marked the Sabres' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Despite the defeat, South Wake got top-tier performance from Noah Wright, who shot 7-for-10 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. The game was Wright's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Jurgens, who posted nine points plus six rebounds.
Having lost for the first time this season, South Wake fell to 4-1. As for Durham Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
