Providence Day has gone 7-1 against Metrolina Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Providence Day Chargers will square off against the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Providence Day proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Christ School, sneaking past 8-6. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Greenies recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Hudson Poindexter looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Austin Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rush Adams, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Metrolina Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over NorthPoint Christian Academy. 11 seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Case Gibbs looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Caden Simpson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Seamon, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Metrolina Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NorthPoint Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .062.
Providence Day's record is now 2-0. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Providence Day came out on top in a nail-biter against Metrolina Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will Providence Day repeat their success, or does Metrolina Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
