Softball Recap: Ridge Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Ridge won against Gill St. Bernard's on Saturday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Red Devil's pitchers stepped up to hand the Perth Amboy Panthers a 9-0 shutout. The Red Devil might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-3. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 6-2-1 Gill St. Bernard's (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Perth Amboy, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Gill St. Bernard's at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perth Amboy, they will head out to square off against Carteret at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
