Baseball Recap: Rudder Comes Up Short

Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the Brenham Cubs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Austin Isom made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jose Ponce, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Rudder's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13-2. As for Brenham, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-1 record this season.

While Rudder had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
