Baseball Recap: Biloxi Victorious

Biloxi was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the West Harrison Hurricanes 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Hurricanes on Friday, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Brody Nguyen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adam Rugg was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Biloxi's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 7-17 when he doesn't). Aden Vanney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Biloxi pushed their record up to 10-18 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Biloxi nor West Harrison have any future games scheduled.
