Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Heartland Christian's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats, sneaking past 63-60. The win was a breath of fresh air for Heartland Christian as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Cedar Bluffs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carter Eiring posted 24 points and four steals. Eiring is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Dawson Novotny was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Heartland Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Cedar Bluffs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Heartland Christian has already played their next matchup (against Omaha Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats face off against the Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
