Softball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Has No Trouble Against Mountain Pointe

After losing to Mountain Pointe the last time they met, Notre Dame Prep decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Saints put the hurt on the Pride with a sharp 13-4 win on Monday. Considering the Saints have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Notre Dame Prep got a massive performance out of Sammy Swords, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Swords has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Daelynn Flowers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Notre Dame Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Pointe only posted a batting average of .214.

With the victory, Notre Dame Prep broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for Mountain Pointe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13-1 record this season.

Notre Dame Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mountain Pointe: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
