Basketball Recap: Paint Valley Comes Up Short

Paint Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Piketon Redstreaks and fell 56-29. The Bearcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redstreaks from their previous meeting back in February.

Sophia Stauffer was Paint Valley's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Stauffer also led the team in rebounds with nine. Braylyn Cunningham took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Paint Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Piketon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Paint Valley Bearcats challenge the Glenwood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Piketon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-34 win against Jackson on the 16th.
