            Baseball Recap: Long Branch Green Wave vs. Shore Regional Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            Shore Regional hit Long Branch with a seven-run first inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Green Wave came up short against  the Blue Devils, falling  13-3. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Green Wave in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost seven in a row.

  Jaylen Brooks was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last four games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kellen Campbell, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  stolen base.
Long Branch now  has a losing record of 5-6. As for Shore Regional, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record  this season.
 Long Branch and Shore Regional could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Green Wave will  square off against  Holmdel  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  disadvantage  (255 vs. 96). Meanwhile,  Shore Regional (ranked 207th) will meet Ocean Township (ranked 61st)  at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
