Recap: Adelson vs. Awaken Christian Lions
Adelson's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-24 loss at the hands of Awaken Christian. Adelson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Awaken Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Jordan led the charge by scoring 18 points. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Kepler, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Adelson's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Awaken Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adelson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Lincoln County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday. As for Awaken Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pahranagat Valley at 3:00 p.m.
