Basketball Recap: Greene County Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Greene County can now relate to. They fell to the Forest Bearcats 60-54. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

Despite the loss, Greene County still got an impressive performance from Lillian Rau, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. That's the most points Rau has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelis Franks, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Greene County and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Forest, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

Greene County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Forest surely won't give up without a fight.
