Baseball Game Preview: Aquinas Blugolds vs. Holmen Vikings

For the second straight game, Aquinas will face off against Holmen. The Blugolds will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aquinas has 14 straight victories, Holmen has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Aquinas beat Holmen 8-3.

For Holmen's part, Joe Meeter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jude Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Aquinas' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holmen, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 14-8-1.
