Softball Recap: Duarte Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Duarte couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Monica Vikings on Saturday.

Valeria Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Allison Michels was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Duarte's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Santa Monica, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Duarte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Monica, they will take on Long Beach Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
