Wyoming Area is a perfect 8-0 against Hanover Area since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will host the Hawkeyes at 7:00 p.m. Wyoming Area is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 32.3 points per game this season.

Wyoming Area had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Berwick put an end to it on Friday. The Warriors came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 35-13. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this game were averaging 15 points allowed.

Wyoming Area's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jack Gravine, who threw for 197 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes, and Luke Kopetchny, who picked up 150 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kopetchny's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards.

Meanwhile, Hanover Area hadn't done well against Tunkhannock recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawkeyes breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 42-0. Considering the Hawkeyes have won three matchups by more than 39 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hanover Area's win came from a few key players Wyoming Area will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dewayne Downey, who rushed for 92 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. He has become a key player for Hanover Area: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Logan Richardson was another key passer, throwing for 171 yards and three TDs.

The victory got Hanover Area back to even at 3-3. As for Wyoming Area, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Wyoming Area against Hanover Area in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-7 win. In that contest, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 49-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
