Volleyball Recap: Blue Ridge Raiders vs. Crestwood Comets
Blue Ridge entered their game against Crestwood on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-27, 25-10.
Jacob Brown paced Blue Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Brown got some help from Riley Phillips and his 18 assists. Ethan Wright controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Crestwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will take on Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crestwood, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th.
