Baseball Recap: Seguin Comes Up Short

If Seguin was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Conrad last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Seguin Cougars fell just short of the Jefferson Patriots by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since March 1, 2024.

Seguin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allen Esquivel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Seguin's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jefferson, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Seguin and Jefferson will both be playing North Crowley the next time they take the field. Jefferson will head out to face North Crowley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Seguin will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
