Southwestern is 8-1 against Vandalia since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Piasa Birds will head out to challenge the Vandals at 4:30 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Southwestern's offense. They fell 4-0 to Greenfield/Northwestern on Monday. The Piasa Birds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ben Biciocchi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vandalia). They blew past Wesclin 12-1 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Vandalia, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Southwestern skirted past Vandalia 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Piasa Birds repeat their success, or do the Vandals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
