Basketball Recap: Zion-Benton Comes Up Short

Zion-Benton lost against Waukegan back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees came up short against the Waukegan Bulldogs, falling 76-52. While losing is never fun, the Zee-Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 46th).

Zion-Benton's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Waukegan, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Zion-Benton will head out to take on North Chicago at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukegan has already played their next matchup (against Lanphier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
