Volleyball Game Preview: Falconer Golden Falcons vs. Portville Panthers

Falconer hasn't had much luck against Portville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Golden Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Falconer is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Falconer won the last time they faced Allegany-Limestone and Reagan Trask did her part to make sure it happened again. The Golden Falcons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gators on Tuesday with plenty of help from Trask, who had 12 digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Falconer was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-22, 24-26, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Portville got the win against Jamestown on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Portville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-23, 25-9.

Falconer's record is now 14-2. As for Portville, their record now sits at 27-2-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Falconer has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Portville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Falconer suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Portville when the teams last played back in September. Can the Golden Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
