Football Recap: South Iredell Vikings vs. Porter Ridge Pirates

If South Iredell was riding high off their 35-14 takedown of North Iredell last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Iredell Vikings lost 35-12 to the Porter Ridge Pirates on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Pirates are ranked 27th).

Tyler Johnson rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 104 yards on 16 of 31 attempts. Brody Hunt was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.

South Iredell will welcome Statesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Porter Ridge, they will face off against Hickory Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2017.
