Softball Recap: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Big Walnut Golden Eagles
Worthington Kilbourne extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-8 in the process. They came up short against the Big Walnut Golden Eagles, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 on April 9th.
Worthington Kilbourne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juliana Orlins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
As for Big Walnut, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.
On Big Walnut's side, they let Tessa Intravia and Kyra Holmes run wild. Intravia went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Holmes went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Myka Marriott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Looking ahead, Worthington Kilbourne will head out to challenge Whetstone at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 11.5 runs per game this season. As for Big Walnut, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 victory against Westerville North on the 28th.
