Volleyball Recap: St. George's Takes a Loss

St. George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the DeSoto Central Jaguars. The Gryphons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. George's sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 13-25, 15-11.

St. George's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for DeSoto Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

St. George's has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against First Assembly Christian on the 28th. As for DeSoto Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Southaven on the 28th.
