Baseball Recap: Braddock Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Braddock can now relate to. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southridge Spartans on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Braddock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Braddock's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Southridge, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Braddock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southridge, they will challenge Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
