Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Skates Past Allen Academy with Ease

Calvary Baptist waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Allen Academy Rams 56-27. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 66-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Calvary Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Heine out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Heine is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Max Guisler was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Calvary Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Calvary Baptist has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Allen Academy, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Calvary Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-57 win against Faith West Academy on the 24th. Allen Academy has also already played their next contest (against St. Joseph Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
