Softball Recap: Red Bud Comes Up Short

Red Bud entered their game against Okawville on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Musketeers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. Musketeers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Rockets since Thursday.

Red Bud's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-6. As for Okawville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Bud will take on Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Musketeers 2.2, the Bulldogs 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Okawville, they will face off against New Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
