Softball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

Lutheran hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dukes & Duchesses at 4:30 p.m. Lutheran has given up an average of 14.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lutheran is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Oregon, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dixon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Rock Falls 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dukes & Duchesses have posted since May 22, 2024.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Dixon, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Lutheran couldn't quite get it done against Dixon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
