Westlake High of Austin leads the way when it comes to producing 2016 NFL talent.

Who's got the ultimate bragging rights when it comes to sending players to the NFL from the high school ranks in Texas?

To find out, MaxPreps and Lateral Sports teamed up and found the alma mater of every player on an NFL roster as of opening day (we included suspended and injured reserve players). Then we broke it all down by state and came up with the table below.

You will find that Texas has sent 214 players to the league this season, and that more come from Westlake High (Austin) than any other school.

Want some more fun facts? How about these:

- A total of 163 different Texas schools are represented in the list.

- Westlake High not only has the most players, but a solid legacy as well. Quarterbacks Drew Brees (Saints) and Nick Foles (Chiefs) are part of the program's history, and Ravens kicker Justin Tucker was part of the 2006 team with Foles.

- When it comes to NFL teams choosing Texas-bred players for their rosters, the Seattle Seahawks lead the way with 13. The Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints are next with 11 each. The low? The New York Jets have just one player from the Texas high school in quarterback Bryce Petty.

- DeSoto had an impressive run with future NFL players for four consecutive seasons (2006-09). Von Miller (Broncos linebacker) and Tony Jerrod-Eddie (49ers defensive end) teamed up in 2006, then Jerrod-Eddie teamed with Mike Murphy (Saints running back) in 2007. For 2008 and 2009, it was Murphy and Zachary Orr (Ravens linebacker).

- Three future NFL players helped guide the Pflugerville High team to an 8-3 record: IK Enemkpali (Bills defensive end), Alex Okafor (Cardinals linebacker) and Tyrus Thompson (Saints tackle).

- The year 2008 saw a good number of future NFL players teaming up on prep teams. The 2008 Allen team featured Cedric Ogbuehi (Bengals tackle) and Steven Terrell (Seahawks safety). Also in 2008, Bushland had Crockett Gillmore (Ravens tight end) and Weston Richburg (Giants center) on the roster. The 2008 Fort Bend Kempner team had George Iloka (Bengals safety) and Chris Banjo (Packers cornerback) on the roster. Meanwhile, Nimitz (Houston) had Michael Thomas (Dolphins safety) and Josh Huff (Eagles wide receiver) on the roster. And yet another school, West Brook (Beaumont) had Ryan Grant (Redskins wide receiver) and Christine Michael (Packers running back).

- The 2007 Fort Bend Elkins team had D.J. Hayden (Raiders cornerback) and Jake Matthews (Falcons tackle) on the roster. Also in 2007, Knile Davis (Chiefs running back) and Antwon Blake (Titans defensive back) teamed up for Fort Bend Marshall.

- Mansfield Legacy had two consecutive seasons with a pair of future NFL players on the roster. In 2009 and 2010, Josh Doctson (Redskins wide receiver) and Rees Odhiambo (Seahawks guard) played for the Broncos. Their junior year was an 8-4 campaign, but their senior season featured a forgettable 1-9 record.

- Stevens (San Antonio) also got two seasons of future NFL players playing together, with Andrew Williamson (Colts safety) and Mykkele Thompson (Giants defensive back) teaming up in 2009 and 2010. In 2010 the team was a 5A semifinalist.

- Longview had running back Chris Ivory (Jaguars) and offensive lineman Trent Williams (Redskins) in the Class of 2006.

- Brandon LaFell and Brian Orakpo were both born in the same year and went to Lamar (Houston). Their days were before the MaxPreps era but it's safe to say they teamed up at some point.

- William Jackson (Bengals cornerback) and Xavien Howard (Dolphins cornerback) were on the 2010 and 2011 Wheatley (Houston) teams. Despite that, the team went 11-13 in those years.

- Home-state teams are lukewarm on home-state players. The Dallas Cowboys had seven Texas-bred players on the opening day roster and the Houston Texans had three.

- Texas produces lots of defensive backs. Out of 214, 52 are listed as defensive backs.
