Basketball Recap: Clear Creek Comes Up Short at Home Against Platte Canyon + How To Watch

Clear Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 47-41 to the Platte Canyon Huskies on Tuesday. The Golddiggers lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-37 score last time.

Defeat or not, Clear Creek got some senior leadership from Zephyr Schuessler and Donovan Duke. Schuessler posted 18 points and three steals, while Duke put up 17 points and six steals. Duke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ian Hendrickson, who earned four points and five rebounds.

Coming up, Clear Creek will be playing at home against Conifer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Platte Canyon, they will venture away from home to square off against SkyView Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
