Preview: Peetz Bulldogs vs. Weldon Valley Warriors
Peetz is 0-10 against Weldon Valley since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Peetz Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Weldon Valley Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Peetz has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
Peetz struggled with assists on Thursday (Otis had 22 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Peetz was beaten by Otis 60-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Peetz in their matchups with Otis: they've now lost six in a row.
Peetz got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Jaidynn Reiman and
Skye Lefever, who each put up seven points.
Khira Gipfert held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Alexis Gentry took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Meanwhile, Weldon Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-49 to Twin Peaks Charter Academy.
Peetz dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Weldon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Peetz came up short against Weldon Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 35-22. Can Peetz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
