Baseball Game Preview: Huntington Huntsmen vs. Manchester Greyhounds

The Huntington Huntsmen will challenge the Manchester Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Huntington comes in on four and Manchester on nine.

Huntington's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Whiteoak by a score of 4-0.

14 must be Manchester's lucky number: they beat Fayetteville-Perry with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Greyhounds beat the Rockets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Manchester pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Huntington, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.

Huntington took their win against Manchester when the teams last played back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Huntsmen repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
