Recap: Howard Huskies vs. West Laurens Raiders

Even though The Howard Huskies have not done well against the West Laurens Raiders recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Howard took down West Laurens 35-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Howard.

Camareon (cam) taylor was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 148 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes. Ethan Ellington was in the mix as well, providing Howard with two touchdowns.

Ty Cummings and Johnny Williams certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Cummings rushed for 137 yards, while Williams picked up 163 receiving yards. Williams' longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards.

Howard now has a winning record of 5-4. As for West Laurens, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard will challenge Westside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Westside is ranked 185th, while Howard is ranked 189th). As for West Laurens, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perry will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
