Softball Recap: North Central Panthers vs. Carmel Greyhounds

After flying high against Warren Central on Monday, North Central came back down to earth. The North Central Panthers wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-5 walloping at the hands of the Carmel Greyhounds on Tuesday. North Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carmel apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

North Central got a good showing from Lorelei Hewlate, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Eliza Rammel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Kennady Johnson was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.

On Carmel's side, Jayden Kleiner was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Sharp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carmel, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

North Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 defeat vs. Cathedral on the 17th. Carmel has also already played their next game, a 15-1 loss against Pendleton Heights on the 17th.
