Softball Game Preview: Cherokee Chiefs vs. Claiborne Bulldogs

Cherokee is 1-6 against Claiborne since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chiefs are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Cherokee has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cherokee is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Monday. They came up short against North Greene, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, Claiborne lost 15-8 to Morristown-Hamblen East on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jaycee Hall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Claiborne's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Cherokee, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.

Cherokee couldn't quite get it done against Claiborne when the teams last played back in March as they fell 6-3. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
