Baseball Game Preview: Sequoia Ravens vs. Menlo-Atherton Bears

The Sequoia Ravens will face off against the Menlo-Atherton Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sequoia 3.6, Menlo-Atherton 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Sequoia didn't have quite enough to beat Hillsdale and fell 5-4.

Sequoia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Karmin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Brandon Ackerhalt also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton fell victim to Capuchino and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Menlo-Atherton also got a good showing from Wes Peterson, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Peterson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Menlo-Atherton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Sequoia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
