Basketball Recap: Fort Thomas Falls Despite Big Games from Raeleigh Hawkins and Jamie Johnson

If Fort Thomas was feeling good fresh off their 65-38 takedown of Duncan on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Apaches took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holbrook Roadrunners on Thursday. The Apaches were not able to make up for their defeat to the Roadrunners from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Fort Thomas' loss came despite strong showings from Jamie Johnson and Raeleigh Hawkins. Johnson went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points, while Hawkins posted seven points and five boards. Hawkins also put up a block, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Leilynn Wesley, who earned seven points.

Bailey Williams was a one-woman wrecking crew For Holbrook. as she shot 50% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 19 points gave Williams a new career-high. Channing Harrington was another key player, putting up four points along with seven boards and six assists.

Fort Thomas' loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Holbrook, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Fort Thomas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-24 win against Camp Verde on the 11th. Holbrook has also already played their next matchup (against Joseph City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
