Softball Recap: Wellington Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cedaredge

With a playoff win on the line, Wellington rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Cedaredge Bruins by a score of 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Taylor Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wellington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kensley Story, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Story has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 21-4-1. As for Cedaredge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

As of now, neither Wellington nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
