Basketball Recap: Bj Hopkins Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

McDonogh won the last time they faced Boys Latin and things went their way on Tuesday too. The McDonogh Eagles snuck past the Boys Latin Lakers with a 64-60 win.

McDonogh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bj Hopkins led the charge by going 8 for 17 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Hopkins a new career-high. Jeff Exinor was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

McDonogh has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Boys Latin, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9.

McDonogh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 74-54 victory against La Plata on the 29th. Boys Latin has also already played their next game (against Redemption Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
