Basketball Recap: Sajuka Riley Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

East Gaston was handed a 36-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 victory over the Cherryville Ironmen. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Ironmen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

East Gaston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sajuka Riley out in front who posted 31 points. Those 31 points gave Riley a new career-high. Ramon De La Oz III was another key player, putting up 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why Cherryville lost, don't look at Talon Dalton. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 15 to rack up 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andron Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-15. As for Cherryville, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

East Gaston has already played their next game, a 61-58 loss against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on the 31st. As for Cherryville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-59 defeat against Bessemer City on the 31st.
