Volleyball Recap: Grantsville Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Haizlee Hall and Avery Merrill

Grantsville lost against Crimson Cliffs back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cowboys came up short against the Mustangs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cowboys have suffered since November 1, 2024.

Avery Merrill and Haizlee Hall certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Merrill had seven digs and five aces, while Hall had seven digs. Brianna Wendel also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lily Jones went supernova For Crimson Cliffs., getting 15 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Jones has posted over her last seven contests.

This is the second loss in a row for Grantsville and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Crimson Cliffs, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Grantsville and Crimson Cliffs will both be playing Payson the next time they take the court. The Cowboys will head out to face the Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
