Softball Recap: Colton's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Colton came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Rosalia Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-6 on Friday.

Kiya Soza was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Colton got a massive performance out of Leah Musson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mere Bell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple.

Colton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .452 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Colton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Rosalia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Colton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
