Basketball Recap: Lakewood Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Lakewood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 72-59 to the Red Springs Red Devils on Monday. The Leopards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Dashaun Carr, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Jones, who posted nine points.

Red Springs' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Lakewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-59 win against Lejeune on the 3rd. As for Red Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-48 victory against St. Pauls on the 3rd.
