Lakota West had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over the Lakota East Thunderhawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Firebirds also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Lakota West's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Lakota East, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Lakota West and Lakota East should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Lakota West will face off against Oak Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 112 places (38 vs. 150). Meanwhile, Lakota East (ranked 56th) will meet Hamilton (ranked 362nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
