Basketball Recap: Ord Chanticleers vs. Ravenna Bluejays
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doniphan-Trumbull, the Ord Chanticleers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Ravenna. For Ord, this counts as revenge for the 65-42 loss the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Ord's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blake Hinrichs led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hinrichs posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Talan Bruha, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ord's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Ravenna, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, Ord and the Bluejays will both be playing the Wildcats the next time they take the court. Ord will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, while the Bluejays will host them on Tuesday.
